Water Rate Ordinance
|
The new water rates will be going into effect next month on your water bills, if all goes well. These transitions are sometimes pretty rough, so please bare with us. And if you have any questions please call city hall. The ordinance can be found here. The ordinance basically states the rates which are as follows:
1. The minimum monthly rate for water shall be $15.00.
2. The rate for water based upon gallons used for the month shall be in accordance with the following schedule: $1.83 per thousand gallons(Rounded to the nearest 1000 gallons per month.)
3. Upon usage of 5,001 gallons rates go to $1.00 per thousand gallons which includes equal amount for sewer.

4th Annual Summer Fiesta
|
This year the CPFC we will be having a new carnival coming into town on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 called All American Amusement. However, the Carnival will not be opening until Thursday, May 28, 2009.
The Clarkton Park Fund Committee's 4th Annual Summer Fiesta will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009.
Arm Band Nights will be Friday, May 29, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and again on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Prices for the armbands will be posted when the prices are given.

Winter Storm 09
|
This years ice storm was one of the worst in many years. But the community has really pulled together in its time of need. Most of the power is back up and the rest should be up by monday.

Where did the water go?
|
There was a 4" main break on Brandon Street around midnight, Monday night. The city had to shut the city water supply off in order to fix the break. As a result we are on a Precautionary Boil Water Order. Due to the Holidays it may be Friday until we get the bacterial test results back needed to lift the order.
The water is more than likely safe. But it is strongly suggested for the safety of you and your family that while cooking Christmas dinner, boil all your water.
